A week of orchestral lessons and endless fanfare!
The Balkan Music Eco Camp is an opportunity for all those who want to get in touch and have direct experience with the music of the Balkans and Asia Minorthrough collective workshops where practice and oral transmission are the first two ingredients. The workshops are aimed at providing participants with the necessary tools to travel independently in the musical world of the Near East and acquire the skills to become members of an ensemble inspired by traditional Eastern European ensembles, from "trubaci" fanfare to "lautari" orchestras, up to groups of "panigiri", the endless nights of music in the summer of the Aegean islands.

There will be sound incursions in nearby cities and collaborations with TRANSPORTO, a festival organized every year by Porto di Terra.

THE TEACHER:
FEDERICO PASCUCCI
Matured between the scenes of Rome, Siena, Lisbon and Amsterdam as a jazz saxophonist, Federico Pascucci develops a deep research and a rich planning towards the sound world of the Near East, that of the Balkans and Asia Minor.
Adventures with Roma musicians lead him in 2016 to join Kocani Orkestarand presents a research thesis on the use of the saxophone in the Gypsy music of North Macedonia at the Amsterdam Conservatory. Study ney and traditional Ottoman and Sufi court music with the Istanbul master Ömer Erdoğdular. Over the years he has worked on building bridges between languages through a double artistic and didactic production between Italy and artistic collaborations with musicians from all over the world.
He gives life to original music between the worlds of jazz and the Balkans in the ensemble FP East Trio (Italy / Bulgaria), Stereoteismo (Italy / Lebanon). Organizes the Errichetta Festival since 2011, the Nice Jazz Festival in Rome since 2019.In 2019 he founded aRome the Balkan Lab Orchestra, a laboratory and an ensemble to spread the passion and study of the musical languages of the Balkans from which a real network of artists involved in these sounds was born and developed.

Port of Earthis located in the heart of the Madonie Park, near the town of Polizzi Generosa,in a mountain area of great beauty, characterized not only by a wild environment rich in woods and waterways.The activities of Porto di terra are inspired by the principles of Permacultureand include food production in an agroecological setting, olive growing, as well as services related to rural development, community facilitation, international exchanges on sustainability, environmental education and non-violent communication.

THE COST OF THE STAY is 25 Euros per day
The price includes:
- Accommodation in a tent
- Breakfast and dinner *
- Use of outdoor spaces:the relaxation area around the "gebbia" and the river, the wooden platform, the two haystacks, the camping area with two teepees and pitches for tents, two outdoor showers and two compost toilets
- Use of interior spaces:the living room and the two bathrooms on the ground floor
- Insurance for participants
- The ticket for the Transporto festivalwhich will be held from Friday 26 to Sunday 28 August 2022.
